FBL WP Export: how to use it and export Wordpress data?

What is FBL WP Export?

FBL WP Export can export all data from Wordpress and WooCommerce to a CSV or JSON File. Works on Windows 10/11, our software is downloadable and fully owned by you—no monthly SaaS fees, just complete control and peace of mind.

You can buy it here.

Our software can export lot of data from your Wordpress CMS:

✔️ Export WooCommerce Orders: Export orders with products, tax, quantity, etc.

✔️ Export WooCommerce Clients: Export clients with email, names, billing and shipping info.

✔️ Export WooCommerce Coupons: Export coupons.

✔️ Export Wordpress Posts: Export all your wordpress posts.

✔️ Export meta data and custom fields: All export includes custom fields and Wordpress meta data.

Configure FBL WP Export

The first thing you need to do is configure the software so it can communicate with your wordpress website.

You first need to click on the button to select an export directory. This button is labelled “1” on the screenshot.

Next you need to configure your user and the Wordpress website: click on the button “2” on the screenshot.

Our software uses the Wordpress API. You will need an active Wordpress user that have an API access.

The WordPress REST API enables you to fetch any type of data on your website, but you’ll need to authenticate your request.

To make authenticated requests to the WordPress REST API, you’ll first need to obtain an API key. To do this, navigate to Users → Profile in your WordPress dashboard.

Then, scroll down to the Application Passwords section. Here, you’ll need to enter a name for your password (for reference) and click on Add New Application Password.

This will generate an API key for you, which you’ll need to use in the FBL WP Export software. (see more on this page if you need more information about the Wordpress API)

You must enter theses informations here:

After that, all data is saved on your computer in the file wordpress.conf. You can edit the file if you need or delete it.

How to use FBL WP Export?

You must select an action to do in the list and click on the “execute” button.

The first thing you must do is ti “Test the connection”. It will test if everything works and if the software can communicate with your wordpress website. If there is a problem, you must verify your Internet connection and the information you provide to the software: url, login, password. (see more on this page if you need more information about the Wordpress API)

After that, you can chose what you want to export.

You can export a large number of element from your website. Because of the internal of Wordpress, our software export your data by chunk of 100 element. So if you enter a large number on the field “3” in the screenshot below, it can take a while to get the data and transform everything to a csv file.

You also have 2 different export for your WooCommerce Order:

  1. Orders - Simple reporting (WooCommerce): get only orders and amount for simple or tax report
  2. Orders - Full data (WooCommerce): get all data with products bought

The “simple reporting” is a lot faster and we selected only the data to get a good and effective Excel report on your sales figures. This is the first option you need to test before getting a “full data” export.
